English Abstract
As part of Victoria’s Cultural Diversity Week 2018, Deakin staff and students were invited to a special lunchtime event: ‘Multiculturalism: going deeper’, held at the Burwood campus on Tuesday, 20 March. A panel of speakers explored how we go beyond everyday notions of multiculturalism (enjoying diverse foods, music and festivals) to genuinely value cultural differences, gain intercultural skills and promote social justice for people of diverse cultural backgrounds. At the event, Deakin’s Cultural Diversity and Inclusion Plan was formally launched. deakin.edu.au/cultural-diversity
